A Precious Holiday Find

Forget about red and green for Christmas....Pink is the color of the season.
I just love, love, love this bottle brush wreath I found a couple months ago antique shopping!
It had an ugly plastic red ribbon that I took right off and replaced with this sheer pink.
Nothing should take away from the wreaths pure vintage beauty.
It's going to be a Merry Christmas....and white too!

Making a list and checking it twice....

Buttons,
keys,
trinkets,
vintage girl tags,
typewriter keys,
beads and crystals,
hand made fabric flowers,
vintage chain,
and misc. findings...
everything is packed and ready for the trinket bracelet class.
and the results were beautiful!

I'm so used to sitting alone and working at my jewelry table. It was so much fun to enjoy the beauty of the littlest things with my students.

Great fun to look through bowls of buttons and trinkets to pick out just the right treasures that tell your own little story. It made them stop and think about some of the goodies at home they could add to their bracelets.

The next scheduled date for this class is December 14th.
Two spots are still available...
Tonight's class with Judith...resin pendants

It's just so fun to sit around and create!!
I loved it as much as the students!

Classes Underway

Calling all princesses..... Your crown is ready!

These classes have been so much fun!!

The creativity is amazing. Put a few people together with "goodies" for projects and the result is always good. So fun to sit and enjoy the company of others while you create something new...something that is all you.

We'll keep adding dates for existing classes and new projects as we get our thoughts together.
This trinket bracelet class on Wednesday, December 2nd is a great class for a special accessory.

Lots of options for vintage buttons and pieces of vintage jewelry.
Hopefully, our students will bring something of their own to add a personal touch.

Come and be inspired...

CALLING ALL ARTISTS!

Calling all friends, creators and makers of pretty things!

Bloomsbury Loft is hosting a series of trunk shows featuring some of our special creative friends and makers of pretty things. I am so excited about this and can't wait to hear from all of you creative people out there. If you think that you have what it takes to put on a show or teach a class, just give us a call, we would like to share and celebrate Indie business people that have a passion for creating things, finding treasures or that have a talent that they would like to share at our series of trunk shows and classes. So don't wait if you are serious and have a passion for what you do, or know someone that is great at what they do and give us a call, as our spaces are limited.

The Country Living Fair

Hi Sarah....(Country Living Editor-in-Chief)
Thank you for wearing one of our handmade blossoms.
She was sweet. Hope to see more of her in the future.

Our tent was full of fun and energy the entire weekend!
It was so exciting! So many people.
We loved the opportunity to introduce our store to so many.

We're still trying to recuperate from so much activity.
The truck has been unloaded and now we are left to sort, arrange and display.
Of course, we're going to need to get moving on more creating and shopping.
But first things first, time to get the shop in order.
We're hoping to see some of our new "friends" from the show.

A Day at the Beach

We have sea glass.....and it is awesome!!
This authentic sea glass is a total treasure.
Found piece by piece on various shores.

Sounds like a lovely way to spend the day,
and based on how much sea glass these treasure hunters have acquired....
I think they spend a lot of time at the beach.

White, green, brown and this beautiful aqua are available in the shop.
Sorted by color or for you to scoop.
It's fun to look at each piece and find it's special features.
Some with numbers or letters,
some with a great texture, and some just feel good to the touch.
I see some jewelry with sea glass in my future.

Country Living Fair.....

September 18,19 and 20th
We are in a panic at the shop preparing for another Country Living Fair.
It's the highlight of our year and the most stressful.
We are busy working on so many projects.
Everyday is a new "to do" list to get done.
We can't wait and we worry that it's coming too soon.
But...It will be fine. We will be ready and we will look great!
We just have to keep repeating that over and over.
We're working on a newsletter to introduce our "plans" for the show.
That will be in e-mail boxes early this week.

Stitch It

This book is awesome....full of inspiration!
A fresh take on soft furnishings,
with inventive ideas for using vintage and new fabrics in the home.
It's full of color and design ideas, with a chapter dedicated to some of our favorite designers, including Cath Kidston, Tricia Guild and others.
And don't judge this book by it's cover....
It's so much more than sewing ideas. (but there are some great ideas)
Stop in for your own copy.

Behind the Scenes...

My "studio" may be in my basement
and not the kind you would see in one of those great books
about where women work,
but a lot of beautiful finds are stored there,
waiting for that project that will highlight their beauty.

Buttons, game pieces, beads and trinkets of all kinds
are treasures to be played with.

I've been having a lot of fun making these button bracelets.
They have just the right amount of dangles and make a fun sound
as they dance around on the wrist.
I just can't have enough buttons.

It's music to my ears.
better get back to "work"

Sealed with a kiss

We will stop at nothing to make the ordinary special.
These sweet little cactuses needed a little something to make them shine.

They are complete with a little sleeve and a touch of something special.
How much more interesting to have a little
treasure wrapped with something sweet.
It celebrates the beauty of our everyday!

Lemonade for Sale!

Sam and his friends from the "hood", Nolan and Max had
quite an afternoon selling lemonade at the shop.
Their stand was adorable....I suggested the linens and the platter, but they took care of all the supplies and the sign....(i loved the sign!)
They sold through all their cookies....which were completely yummy and only 25 cents.
(Eric, from the Music Cafe would be in big trouble if this went on much longer.)

When foot traffic slowed, they started walking back and forth in front of the store waving their sign and yelling out to passing traffic...
"lemonade for sale.. stop and get your lemonade here."
And I'm not sure how much they drank themselves, but they had use the bathroom quite a bit.

Of course they had to pack things up after about an hour and have lunch.
But they got right back into it.
They were on kool-aid mission.
What a nice afternoon!

We have been sooo busy, I love it!

New look for our porch! Beth is a genius it looks great, my camera does not pay justice to all the hard work. Then Natalia and her friend Megan painting something fun in the two mid century tables, they are looking great. And lastly fun finds from our friend's sale, we really love everything we found. Now a few days of messy rearranging disruption, and
everything will be alright again.I love this two chairs, this is where vintage meets modern!
