Take a peek...

Fresh handmades and other goodies.

I know it's been way too long...but we finally updated our newest finds page on our web site.
It shouldn't be such a project, but for some reason the resizing of pictures has been quite a process....(i'm sure there is an easier way, but i didn't know it)
Not anymore, a simple new plan and I can update the page often, and we are planning on it.

take a peek.

I decided to focus on some of our materials for projects.
Fabric, vintage wallpaper and locker baskets for your misc. goodies.
Projects....a great way to spend a cold winter day
What are you working on??

My three new friends, Susan(birthday girl), Krissy and Wendy celebrated Susan's birthday by dining and then heading to Bloomsbury Loft for cupcakes from Pink Moon (yum) and a Found Treasure Necklace class. They nurture their creative souls by creating this fun necklace.

Looking for Inspiration

Yes, the porch is filled with snow, but that didn't stop us from putting out the colorful fabrics,
pillows, tablecloths...anything we could find to brighten things up.
We've been moving things around and looking for inspiration to start creating beautiful new handmades....and it usually begins with fabric.

Inspiration can definately be found in these old issues of Home Companion. One of the best magazines ever, so sad it's no longer available. But the bottle carrier is a perfect storage for them....love it!

What a beautiful combination. The graphic tees, Judith's awesome frames made with vintage wallpaper and my new drawstring bags.
It is a true representation of vintage meeting modern.
It's been a good day!

Cabin Fever thoughts !

This are a few of my favorite things! First picture: vintage wallpaper, Oh how I adore vintage wallpaper! Then mix them with the painted lace frames and voila, pretty funky wallart. What else could I possibly want, oh I know, time to play!!!
I also like to share the basket full of wallpaper and fabrics, some are new and some are old but they all look so good together, what to do? So many projects so litle time!
And that is a little peek I wanted to share with you, now I will head back to my studio, for some good fun work!
Keep checking our blog our new class schedule will be posted by Friday Jan. 14th, I promise!
We will be posting pictures with samples from most of our classes

Time to start the new year fresh and organized. We've consolidated all the holiday goodies, and marked them down for quick sale.
It's time to see what we have, decide what we need and get moving on re-arranging and creating new inspired spaces. (in our homes too)

Fresh displays and our class schedule are first on the Bloomsbury to-do list. It's a perfect time of year to learn something new, and enjoy the process of creating.
Time to get to work.

A Precious Holiday Find

Forget about red and green for Christmas....Pink is the color of the season.
I just love, love, love this bottle brush wreath I found a couple months ago antique shopping!
It had an ugly plastic red ribbon that I took right off and replaced with this sheer pink.
Nothing should take away from the wreaths pure vintage beauty.
It's going to be a Merry Christmas....and white too!

Making a list and checking it twice....

Buttons,
keys,
trinkets,
vintage girl tags,
typewriter keys,
beads and crystals,
hand made fabric flowers,
vintage chain,
and misc. findings...
everything is packed and ready for the trinket bracelet class.
and the results were beautiful!

I'm so used to sitting alone and working at my jewelry table. It was so much fun to enjoy the beauty of the littlest things with my students.

Great fun to look through bowls of buttons and trinkets to pick out just the right treasures that tell your own little story. It made them stop and think about some of the goodies at home they could add to their bracelets.

The next scheduled date for this class is December 14th.
Two spots are still available...
Tonight's class with Judith...resin pendants

It's just so fun to sit around and create!!
I loved it as much as the students!

The countdown begins....

Our holiday open house was so fun! So many of our customers came to spend the evening with us. And the invited artists did not disappoint.
Handmades were overflowing all around the shop.

Clutches, clutches, clutches. So many patterns to choose from.
Great for holiday parties.

Great pillows

Game boards reinvented into message boards.
The attention to detail is amazing, and the treasure hunting required to find all the sweet little accessories...how fun!

Paper deli had great items....
love these little jars filled with ribbon and random little trinkets.
I want a pantry full.
