Sunshine!

Wow, yesterday was an awesome day at the shop!

The sun was shining, fresh air was coming through the OPEN door.

And people were happy to be out and about!

I know it's just a peek, but spring is on it's way....
And we are ready!

Beautiful results from Mondays trinket bracelet class!

The girls had fun and found lots of vintage goodies for their bracelets.

It's amazing how random odds and end can be put together to create something new and completely fun!
Now that's a real trasure.

Style is to see beauty in modest things.

Sleep tight with these sweet pillowcases

We've been enjoying the simplicity and beauty of our handmade pillowcases

We're using a mix of the fabrics we have a available in the store and other scraps of vintage we have lying around.

The results are awesome. Why should we save all the great fabrics just for the throw pillows, the bed pillows can be "dressed" too. And they get to stay on the bed all night.

Look for a class on this for sure!

Classroom success

The patchwork pillow class kept us busy. More steps and more room needed to lay everything out. But the results were well worth it? These two students were amazed at their ability to complete this project in under 2 hours with 1 yard of fabric. Always so much more fun to tackle a

new project in a "classroom" .

Next class... Trinket bracelet - March 1st

We'll sift through buttons, beads, keys, old earring and anything else I can come up with to make a great vintage charm bracelet. Such a fun accessory, and even better if you have something special you would like to include of your own. Two spaces available...a great way to spend the evening.

Kids home from school, and tons of snow make it a little difficult to do business as usual.

I wanted to share this with all of the reader's of this blog in honor of my sweet daughter Natalia, HAPPY 21rst BIRTHDAY!!! This is one of her animations that I think she is most proud of. She actually won 2nd place at the James Guerney's (author of the famous Dinotopia books) blog contest. She is a very talented artist and very passionate about her craft and I hope that you would agree with me. I love you sweetie!!!!!

Our classroom was blooming last night! The pretty table ready and full of many goodies to choose from, just waiting for our students to arrive.

My three new friends, Susan(birthday girl), Krissy and Wendy celebrated Susan's birthday by dining and then heading to Bloomsbury Loft for cupcakes from Pink Moon (yum) and a Found Treasure Necklace class. They nurture their creative souls by creating this fun necklace.

It is always a joy to watch others loving to play as much as we do!

Looking for Inspiration

Yes, the porch is filled with snow, but that didn't stop us from putting out the colorful fabrics,

pillows, tablecloths...anything we could find to brighten things up.

We've been moving things around and looking for inspiration to start creating beautiful new handmades....and it usually begins with fabric.

Inspiration can definately be found in these old issues of Home Companion. One of the best magazines ever, so sad it's no longer available. But the bottle carrier is a perfect storage for them....love it!

What a beautiful combination. The graphic tees, Judith's awesome frames made with vintage wallpaper and my new drawstring bags.

It is a true representation of vintage meeting modern.
